OUR NEW HOME!

Help make our new home a magical place for all to enjoy! Donate to our building fund!

Our new location is 719 Wicker Lane. Conveniently located off of Missouri Boulevard. With 15,500 sq. ft., it more than triples our existing facility.

CCP is extremely grateful to the owners of the building from Harold G. Butzer, Inc. for being so wonderful in partnering to make the new theatre a reality and Tim Schepers of Bowman Realty for his diligence in helping us find a new theatre home.

“After months of searching and deliberation over the pros and cons of several locations, we are proud to announce we have signed a contract for a new home that will meet the needs expressed by our patrons and provide the space we need to grow and expand our programming and cultural footprint in Central Missouri,” said Rob Crouse, CCP Found and Board Member.

The new location will have two large parking lots that are completely level making it easier for Captial City Productions patrons to access the building. Rending of side view.

The main floor of the new space allows for a much larger thrust stage with wing space. Seating in the new theatre is 288, double the current occupancy with 16 smaller tables for couples. There will also be more room between the tables for easier movement between the tables. The layout also allow for a more intimate feel as the tables will be closer to the stage.

The new lobby will be larger with a more visible check-in and concession stand area and a beautiful baby grand player piano to entertain patrons upon their arrival. A big feature will be the new restrooms which will be larger and conveniently located on the same floor as the theatre! We will also be able to have a catering kitchen, allowing for easier set-up and clean-up. Plus, there will be a larger buffet room with two buffet tables to speed up those lines and the wait time for patrons to eat the wonderful meals that will still be created by award-winning Argyle Catering.

The new larger dedicated men’s and women’s dressing rooms will each have their own bathroom. Patrons will no longer have to share a restroom with those pesky actors in their costumes!

One of the most exciting aspects of the new theatre is an actual loading area and set construction workshop. No longer will sets have to be built in the actual theatre forcing a complete tear down and set up of tables for each performance. The new expanded space will allow CCP to rent the theatre for wedding receptions, luncheons, and other special events.

The second floor of the new facilities will give CCP much needed storage space.  There will be a dedicated costume shop for our designers to work in free of saw dust! This will also allow CCP to maintain a costume inventory that will be available for rental to other theatre groups.

A dedicated props storage will also allow CCP to maintain a prop inventory, so we will save funds on frequent rentals and purchases of certain items and also allow CCP to rent out props to other theatre groups.

CCP has currently rented our Cinderella carriage to six theatre groups in the upcoming year. Keep on eye on the website as we build inventory for what will be available for rental.

Also, new will be an actual office area, where we will be able to properly organize and maintain show files, office supplies, and a place to print our programs.

New storage for lighting and sound equipment means our wonderful technicians will have a dedicated space for storage with easy and quick access to equipment.

BUT WAIT…..THERE’S MORE TO COME!

The new space will allow us to start a year round children’s program entitled Theo’s Thespains, continue our summer theatre camp, and a new Cabaret Series called SPOTS! On the Artists. The Cabaret Series will bring to Jefferson City touring artists and allow for smaller musicals and plays.
